It is a great tactile and cognitive activity – great memory conversation

Hi Patricia,
It was a pleasure to meet you – thanks again for the “recycled” flowers! The residents loved them. We sometimes use flowers as a Flower Arranging activity. This afternoon, we plan to arrange them in colorful vases and put them on the tables for a nice decoration in the dining room. When I used to work in the Wayne area, I used to get the flowers from a florist near our facility. We have one lady here who is a real expert with flower arranging. It is a great tactile, cognitive and memory activity. Most of the residents used to enjoy gardening as a hobby. A lively discussion about planting vegetables and flowers is a topic that recalls memories of their earlier lives. It is great to re-purpose the flowers in a way that brings such joy to our residents. So glad that you do not let them be discarded in a dumpster. You are bringing joy…..one bouquet at a time.
