My mother and I, both school teachers, are available to come to your nursing center, rehabilitation facility, hospital, shelter, correctional facility or children’s home to read the story of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas or the Christmas story of The First Christmas, about Mary and Joseph and the stable in Bethlehem. We bring along colorful “props”and have a great time interacting with the residents. There is no fee for the program, which lasts for about a half hour. We did this program for the residents of the Ivy Hill Rehabitation and Nursing center, near Mount Airy and for Hopkins House, in Wyncote, on Wednesday. A wonderful time was had by all. One lady said, “This was so nice. This is what the people in here need.” Please see my original posting on Monday under the GENERAL SECTION.
There was lots of laughter, smiles, joy and love as my mom and I set up colorful stockings, bells, Christmas afghans, and “decorated our story area” like the scene of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas. Dolls and stuffed animals added to the sense of wonder created by a few boxes of colorful items. A generous person just called and offered us a stuffed animal to give to each resident. If you would like us to visit people in need of a lift this weekend, please call my cell phone 267 939 0365. I live in Chalfont, PA
